What is the Glycemic Index
The glycemic index is a measurement of how rapidly a carbohydrate enters your bloodstream and how high it raises your blood glucose level. Not all carbs are the same.
Examples of high glycemic index foods are candy and pasta made from white flour. A high glycemic index means that the carb is quickly digested and can send your blood sugar soaring.
A lower glycemic index means that the carb has a slower digestion rate.
It enters the blood more gradually, which means that blood glucose rises at a slower rate and does not spike as high. Lower glycemic index foods include fruits and vegetables, and whole grain breads and pastas.
Parboiled rice might sound like it's precooked, but it's not. Instead, it's processes quite differently from other types of rice. The resulting grain is cooked and served just as you would white or brown rice. However, because of the special processing, parboiled rice is a better source of fiber, calcium, potassium and vitamin B-6 than regular white rice.

Preparation and Usage

Conventional Cooking Method
1. Wash rice well
2. Soak Rice in water for 20 - 30 minute
3. Used ratio rice in water, 1: 1 1/2. Heat water until it reached boiling point
4. Drain the water and add a little salt if desired
5. Pour the rice into the boiling water and allow to boil for about 5 minutes
6. Keep the pot on low heat for about 5 minutes or until water is absorbed
7. The cooked rice is now ready to be served

Cooking with Electric Rice Cooker
1. Wash rice well
2. Soak Rice in water for the ratio 1: 1 1/2 for 20 - 30 minutes
3. Add a little salt to your desired
4. Switch on the rice cooker until the rice is cooked
